If you are a grandparent who has been unreasonably denied visits with a grandchild as a result of your child's divorce, you may be entitled to court-ordered visitation. At The Barbknecht Firm, P.C., we take pride in helping grandparents to maintain contact with their grandchildren.

Grandparents' Rights are statutorily recognized in Texas. In addition, Texas courts have ordered visitation rights on a case-by-case basis. By understanding how courts have ruled in grandparent's rights cases in the past, the attorneys at The Barbknecht Firm, P.C. can help you as a grandparent to put your best foot forward.

In one of The Barbknecht Firm, P.C.'s grandparents' rights cases, we represented a woman who ran a construction company who had a loving relationship with her grandchildren. We have to intervene to make sure the grandmother had access to her grandchildren. However, a resentful ex son-in-law didn't want that relationship to continue. Today, the woman continues to see her grandchildren, gives them gifts, and provides the children an excellent role model.

Grandparent visitation is when the court sets a specific schedule for a person to have access to the child. If visitation is granted, the court will order that the children be made available to the grandparent on specific day for a specified amount of time.
